MDRS 89

MDRS 89 is a simulated Mars mission, held at the Mars Desert Research Station near Hanksville, Utah. Commanded by Brian Shiro (Geophysicist), Crew 89 consists of Carla Haroz (XO), Darrel Robertson (Engineer), Luís Saraiva (Biologist), Kiri Wagstaff (Geologist, Information), and myself as the Crew Astronomer. For two weeks, from January 23 until February 6, we lived in the Hab while conducting science experiments, going on EVAs, maintaining the Hab, and learning how future manned missions will operate once they land on Mars.
